Yes.
When you complete the Algolia Shopify app Quickstart, the app automatically generates a Search API key with a default rate limit of 100,000 requests per IP per hour to help mitigate bot traffic.
How the limit is applied
On a standard cluster, each of its three servers applies the limit separately, so a value of 100,000 allows up to 300,000 search requests per IP address per hour. Divide the limit you have in mind by three before entering it. This doesn't apply on Dynamically Scaling Infrastructure (your cluster name starts with M). For more on choosing a value, see Why is it important to create a rate limited API key?
Reduce the rate limit on the existing key
- Go to Algolia Dashboard > Settings > API Keys.
- Find the API key used by your Shopify store. Search for "Shopify", or copy the key from the Credentials tab in the Algolia Shopify app and search for it on the API Keys page.
- Click Edit and update the rate limit to the value you want.
Replace the key instead
- Create a rate-limited Search API key in the Algolia dashboard, or with the
addApiKeyorupdateApiKeymethods of an API client. - Update the Search API Key in the Credentials tab of the Algolia Shopify app with the new key.
