Algolia automatically suspends and deletes applications on free (unpaid) plans after two months of inactivity. This is because hosting inactive applications incurs ongoing infrastructure costs.
What counts as “inactive”?
An application is considered inactive if no operations (such as searches, indexing, or configuration changes) have been performed for two consecutive months.
How to keep your application active
To prevent your application from being suspended or deleted:
Log into your Algolia Dashboard
Select the application you want to keep active from the "Applications" tab
Go to the Index tab and perform a few test searches
Running just a few search operations every two months is enough to reset the inactivity timer.
Important note for users with multiple applications
If you manage more than one application, make sure you’re running searches in each individual application you want to retain. Inactivity is tracked per application, not per account.
