When creating a provider profile in the Algolia Dashboard, select your provider, then use the Where to find the API key? link for guidance on locating the required key.
In this example, OpenAI has been selected:
To create an Agent Studio provider, please use an API key issued by the large language model provider you’re connecting to.
For example:
- OpenAI: Use an API key created in the OpenAI Platform. ChatGPT subscription credentials can’t be used as an OpenAI API key.
- Google Gemini: Use a Gemini API key created or managed through Google AI Studio.
- Anthropic: Use an API key created in the Anthropic Console.
- Azure OpenAI: Use an API key from the Keys and Endpoint page of your Azure OpenAI resource. You must also provide the resource’s endpoint URL.
- DeepSeek: Use an API key created through the DeepSeek Platform.
- OpenAI-compatible provider: Use an API key issued by the provider whose endpoint you’re connecting. Refer to that provider’s authentication documentation for its key requirements.
Algolia application credentials and LLM provider credentials serve different purposes. Your Algolia application ID and API key authenticate requests to Algolia. The provider API key authenticates Agent Studio with the selected LLM provider.
