If your record count is higher than you expect, there are three likely explanations.
1. You're looking at a consolidated total
If you have a Parent/Child configuration, several applications under a single contract and billing quota, then the chart under Settings > Billing > Usage > Usage Details > Usage Breakdown shows the total record count across all parent and child applications, not the figure for one application.
To see a single application's records, switch to that application and open API Monitoring > Usage. See Track usage for a walkthrough.
2. The graph is monthly regardless of your subscription
The Records graph in API Monitoring always defaults to monthly usage, whether you're billed monthly or annually. If you're on an annual subscription, the graph isn't showing the period your invoice covers.
3. What the graph shows isn't what you're billed on
Your billed record figure isn't the peak on the chart. Algolia measures records daily and discards the three days on which you held the most records, so a reindex spike visible in the graph may not be charged at all.
See How Algolia counts search requests, operations, and records.
If the count itself has genuinely grown
Replicas, replaceAllObjects reindexing, and inconsistent objectIDs are the usual causes. See Why do I see a spike in my records usage?
