If you have recently renamed your index, you may notice unexpected Dynamic Synonym Suggestions appearing in your list of synonyms that do not exist in, or have not been accepted through your AI Synonym dashboard.
This is because AI-generated synonyms are associated with an index’s by its name. This means when an index is renamed, any AI-generated synonyms tied to the original name will no longer appear in the AI Synonyms dashboard of the newly named index.
However, since renaming an index copies over the index settings, including any previously accepted AI synonyms, those AI synonyms will still appear in the Synonyms list of the new index.
Unfortunately, as the index’s name has changed, any previously accepted AI synonyms can no longer be managed from the AI Synonym dashboard. You can however still delete them manually via the Synonyms list.
As a side effect of the above, you may notice a "Failed to delete synonym" warning message when deleting these synonyms - this can be ignored as the synonym is typically deleted successfully despite the warning.
