Why am I getting the "item conflicts with the current filter and/or because a variant is already pinned to a higher position" error message when trying to pin items in Visual Editor?

Otherwise, if the issue is not the conflicting filter then you need to check if there is already a pinned variant of that item appearing in a higher position.

If so, you would have to either remove the second variation from your strategy or turn off the distinct parameter in your index settings which will allow you to pin both variations.
