Insufficient search traffic
If your Dynamic Synonym Suggestions are not generating and you are seeing the message "We may not have enough search traffic to generate synonyms for you", this is likely due to insufficient search traffic.
Generation of AI Synonyms is mainly dependent on the volume of non-empty searches. In general, most applications need at least 40K non-empty searches per week to find viable AI Synonyms, but this number can be more as it takes into account different variables and use-cases.
Additionally, Dynamic Synonyms are generated every Wednesday and so it can take up to 7 days from registering to see AI Synonyms relevant for your search.
Language limitation
There is a limitation with Dynamic Synonyms whereby it currently works best with Latin alphabet based languages. For languages such as Chinese, Korean and Japanese however, which do not include spaces between words, it can work only if you segment your queries. Segmenting of queries is not done on Algolia's side.
Our documentation provides guidance on how to segment your queries.
No interaction for 90 days
If you do not interact with the Dynamic Synonyms feature for 90 days (ie: accept/reject a suggested synonym, update your configuration, etc), then the engine will automatically stop suggesting synonyms. If you would like to re-activate the feature after 90+ days of inactivity, please contact support.
