To update the content, i.e. the results you get, you need to alter the content that is crawled and update your config. More information on managing this can be found in the documentation "Manage your crawls"[1].
To alter the style, see the "styling" guide[2].
For more in depth changes, see "API Reference" guide[3]. If the in built solutions do not provide enough control, you may use the instantSearch.js[4] library instead.
