When a project has been approved for a DocSearch application, a Search-only API key is generated for the application. This key is mentioned in your DocSearch acceptance email from the DocSearch team.
In addition, you will see a different Search-only API key on your Algolia Dashboard and this is associated with your own account for the application.
As long as you are associated with the application, you could use either key for search. If you delete your own account, the key displayed on the Dashboard would be removed.
