Yes, you can test an updated DocSearch configuration on your staging site by editing the crawler settings directly in the DocSearch interface.
How to test your configuration
Go to the Configuration Edit section of your crawler.
Make the necessary changes to your configuration (e.g. start URLs, selectors, exclusion rules).
Save the updated configuration.
Start a new crawl to apply and test the changes.
