Why doesn't the total_search_requests metric add up to 100% of the sum of the index queries?

Per this reference 

total_search_requests: sum of all Search requests. The number of billed Search Requests is equal to this value minus querysuggestions_total_search_requests

Billed search requests are not parsed within the multiquery for Current Free, Standard, and Premium plans. See this guide article on the issue.
